How to Make Shroom Riot Cocoa

Shroom Riot Cocoa is a caffeine-free drink powder. One 300 g pouch makes 30 servings at 10 g a cup. Here is how to get the smoothest cup, hot or cold.

Hot — the standard way

  1. Add one heaped tablespoon (10 g) to a mug.
  2. Pour in 200 ml of hot water, or milk, or a milk alternative.
  3. Stir for 30 seconds.
  4. Leave it for one minute. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that stops the powder sitting at the bottom.
  5. Stir again for 30 seconds and drink.

Cold — same powder, longer rest

Shroom Riot mixes cold as well. Follow the same steps with cold water or milk, but leave it for two minutes before the final 30-second stir instead of one.

For the smoothest mix

A milk frother or a shaker gives the smoothest result — worth it if you are making it cold, or if you are the sort of person who notices texture.

How strong should it be?

10 g in 200 ml is the serving the 30-serving count is based on. More powder in the same liquid gives a thicker, richer cup and fewer servings per pouch; more liquid gives a longer, lighter drink. Neither is wrong.

Storing it

Store the pouch in a cool, dry place and keep it out of reach of children. Reseal it after each use — it is a powder, and it will take on moisture if you leave it open.

What is in the cup

Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Cordyceps and Chaga, blended into cocoa with whey protein rather than dusted over the top. No caffeine.

Contains milk (whey). Not suitable for vegans, or for anyone with a milk or dairy allergy. Made in the UK.
